2014 Year in Review Part I | Bay Area Family & Senior Photography

This year has been has been wonderful in so many ways. After three years in business, I think that I finally started to find my voice as a photographer; and I have to thank my clients for that.  In 2014, I have been blessed by having some of the most amazing clients. I have made wonderful friendships from these relationships, and this just makes my job that much more fulfilling.  I really do love my clients! They are amazing!

During this year, among other things, I got to photograph a wonderful group of teens to build my Senior High School Photography Portfolio. They were rock stars, and we got the create the most amazing images! I also got to photograph my first birth story. It was such an unbelievably and moving experience; I cried when the baby was born. Simply amazing. I also got to cry (I know I can be emotional) when I photographed a wedding this year. I am always moved when I am chosen to photograph that one special day in the life of a couple. LOVED being a part of their big day.

With this, I leave 2014 feeling accomplished and incredibly happy for an amazing year of photography in my life.  Below a quick look at some 2014 highlights.... Don't forget to check my Part II of this blog post: My 2014 Film Faves. Up tomorrow to celebrate New Years!

The Best Christmas Present | Film Photography

Last December, we travelled to Toronto to spend the holidays with my husband's family.   We arrived  in the middle of the 2013 Toronto Ice Storm; one of the worst ice storms since 1988. Freezing rain and snow caused major power outages. Driving conditions were horrible; my in-laws' neighbors had to heat snow to wash dishes; it was a pretty big mess in the Toronto GTA; we even experienced an ice-quake!   My husband, kids and I had to move to my sister-in-law's who didn't lose power.

In the middle of all this chaos, the ice storm had created the most marvelous spectacle; it was like being in a Swarovski Wonderland. And on December 24th, I got one of the most amazing Christmas presents. My mother-in-law picked me up and drove me around to just take pictures. She said that in her 30+ years living in Toronto (she is from Saskatchewan), she had never seen such  an amazing and beautiful landscape. So I grabbed my film camera, and just took pictures. It was one of the best Christmas presents I have ever gotten.(And my husband is pretty hard to beat when it comes to Christmas presents!). Thanks so much Connie! Here are some of the images from that trip. Happy Holidays to all of you that read my blog! Hope you have a wonderful time with your loved ones! XOXO - Cyntia

Clark Family | Almaden Valley Family Photography

Memorable, I guess it is a great word to the describe our photo shoot with the Clark Family. They were fun; loving to each other; and one of the happiest family I have ever photographed. I truly did enjoyed every moment of our time together. We did a little hiking, we did a little playing, we did a little laughing. What a great way to spend an afternoon with a family, and capturing memories for them to have for years and years to come! Here are some of my favorites from their session.
